Global Science & Research Infrastructure Exchange (GSRIX) 2026

The Supply Chain Forum for Global Research Infrastructure & Big Science

GSRIX Venue: Concorde Conference Centre, Runway Visitors Park, Manchester Airport, Altrincham, WA15 8XQ

Introduction

Global Science & Research Infrastructure Exchange (GSRIX)
Supply Chain Forum - Tuesday, 1st December 2026

The Global Science & Research Infrastructure Exchange (GSRIX) is a new UK supply-chain forum bringing together major international research facilities, UK national laboratories and innovative British suppliers.

Taking place at the Concorde Conference Centre in Manchester on 1st December 2026, GSRIX will combine procurement and project briefings, pre-bookable one-to-one meetings, a supplier capability exhibition and structured networking within a single focused event.

Currently believed to be the only forum in the United Kingdom to bring multiple leading international research facilities and UK national laboratories under one roof, GSRIX enables British suppliers to meet representatives from both directly through structured one-to-one appointments.

Meet the organisations building and operating some of the world’s most advanced scientific facilities.

The facilities and laboratories represented at GSRIX collectively manage multi-billion-pound research infrastructures and procure substantial volumes of specialist equipment, engineering services and advanced technologies.

By bringing procurement teams, engineers and scientists from multiple national and international facilities together in one accessible UK venue, GSRIX provides suppliers with an exceptional opportunity to:

GSRIX creates a practical gateway to the global science marketplace, with the potential to turn a single day of exhibiting and structured meetings into a pipeline of national and international opportunities.

Opening Address

We are pleased to announce that Professor Julia Sutcliffe, Chief Scientific Adviser at the Department for Business and Trade, will deliver the opening address at the inaugural GSRIX event.

Professor Sutcliffe’s participation reflects the relevance of GSRIX to the United Kingdom’s scientific, industrial and international trade ambitions and the importance of strengthening connections between British suppliers and global research infrastructure.

Her opening address will place the event within the wider context of UK science, innovation and international trade before the programme of laboratory briefings, structured appointments, supplier engagement and networking begins.

Building on a Successful UK Initiative

GSRIX was independently conceived and developed by Nu-Tech Exhibitions + Events following the success of the international “Big Science” Meet the Buyer initiative that Nu-Tech delivered at the Science and Technology Facilities Council’s Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in September 2025.

Held alongside Nu-Tech’s established Science and Technology Solutions Exhibition, the initiative brought UK suppliers together with procurement representatives from leading national and international research facilities and facilitated more than 300 structured one-to-one meetings.

Building on that successful pilot, Nu-Tech is now delivering GSRIX as a larger, standalone national and international supply-chain forum through its established self-funded model, without reliance on public funding.

Hosted at the unique Concorde Conference Centre beneath the iconic Concorde aircraft, the event provides a rare opportunity for suppliers to engage directly with organisations responsible for some of the most advanced scientific infrastructure projects in the world.

The event programme will include a supplier capability showcase exhibition, Meet the Buyer sessions, update presentations from leading laboratories and structured networking designed to encourage meaningful conversations and new partnerships.
